At our last weekend at the Heart and Crown (January 27 and 28, 2012), Nathan had his camera rolling on us to grab some footage of The Shatners in action. The result is a nice little promo video that catches some of the highlights from that gig.

Les spectacles avec Paul Demers – La Rivière Outaouais

J’ai eu le plaisir d’accompagner Paul Demers dans une série de spectacles ce mois pour le lancement de son nouveau album Encore une fois.

Le premier spectacle était le lancement de la nouvelle programmation de CJFO FM (la radio communautaire francophone de la région d’Ottawa) le dimanche 18 septembre 2011 sur la croisière Rivière Outaouais. Un très belle journée pour être en bateau! Le spectacle s’est bien déroulé (comme toujours avec ces musiciens) et Michel Bénac du group Swing a monté pour chanter un peu avec nous.

Another Short Film Scored – Kichesippi Beer and Zombies!

I’ve teased a bit about a new musical project a couple of weeks ago on Facebook and Twitter. I was waiting for the video to be released on YouTube for all to see before going into details. Well, here they are!

I was approached by Kristian Lariviere (via JF Dufault, who’s short film InSight I scored a few months ago) about writing some music for a film that we as entering in the DigiKichesippi Competition as part of the Digi60 Filmmakers Festival. Kristian was going to shoot a 60-second commercial for Kichesippi Beer as a zombie movie! How could I say no?

So, after a few days of back and forth with Kristian and a couple of nights recording at home, I managed to hack n’ slash together some music for the commercial. Unlike InSight, I had no cut of the film to go from. I did chat about the script with Kristian and we determined some timings for the music, which worked out really well in the final product. The crew also did a very cool job filming the commercial and putting it together!

The best part? The commercial took 1st place in the competition!

Thanks to Kristian for the phone call! This was a fun little project!

And now, crack open a couple of bottles of Kichesippi Beer and enjoy the video!
